Rachelle Dyer will also be joining us this year to run the RAD ballet division. Rachelle has trained professionally in Vancouver since early childhood. She then became a professional dancer and worked for several cruise ships and dance companies when she decided to come back home to Vancouver to inspire and teach children the art of ballet which she loves. Rachelle has taught at some of the top studios over the past 6 yrs and is currently on staff at Harbour Dance Centre and Danzmode. Although Rachelle is trained in all dance forms she believes that the basics of Ballet are the fundamentals of all dance. Can Dance welcomes Rachelle to our Teaching staff.
Michelle Smith has been teaching with Can Dance Studio for 6 yrs. Her unique and outstanding choreography has won her several top choreography awards. Not only is Michelle an excellent teacher but her performances at the Olympic ceremonies , T.V. and film are becoming internationally recognized . Michelle has taught across Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
Regan Calicetto has been dancing since before she could walk. She has been trained at Can Dance for 14 yrs and is now working with several pre-professional dance companies in Vancouver to further her career as a dancer. Regan has trained with Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Lil C ,Twitch, the Beat Freaks and Fanny Pak . This summer Regan will be training with Move Dance Company and Modus Operandi Dance Company. Regan has won over $8000 in scholarship and has represented Canada in the Dance World cup.
Debbie Calicetto is the owner operator of Can Dance Studio and has been for the past 21 yrs. She has taught thousands of dancers over the years . Debbie prides herself on bringing top working instructors to the Mission area. Everyone deserves the chance to dance; from Recreational to Advanced level. Here at Can Dance we provide the opportunity for all dancers to succeed. We know 2010-2011 will be another great year.
Karen Thompson will be teaching all the baby and toddler programs through the Wee Wigglers program at Can Dance Studio. Dance, music, and Movement are all incorporated with the fun, friendly environment to create the perfect class for all children and their parents ages 5 months and up. Karen, a dancer herself, is so excited to bring this program to Mission so all kids can learn the art of dance.Daina WilkieDaina fell in love with acrobatics at the age of 6. She first started her training with Aldeana Bawtinheimer; competing in many competitions and winning numerous awards. She is now training and performing for Anne Lawton from West Coast Contortion and Acrobatics. Daina has had the privilege to train in the art of contortion, acrobatics, hand to hand balancing, rod balancing and the aerial hoop. Through out her years of training she has had the opportunity to perform at the Global TV Christmas Party in 2009, the 2010 Olympics, Destineak, as well as the privilege to train with the some of the most well known circus performers from Las Vegas such as, Otgo Waller, Enkhee Tumendelger, Kristi Toguchi and Cheryl Lindley. She has taken some of her AFSA Exams ( Acrobatic Federation of South Africa ) and the CDTA Bronze and Silver Acrobatic Exams. Daina is really looking forward to teaching this year at Can Dance and can’t wait to share what she has learnt.
